Best Training on Tough Subjects

Trinka Porrata is a Drug Consultant specializing in the education of law enforcement officials, medical practitioners, teachers, parents, and courtrooms about current drug trends. Her expertise spans sexual assault, child abuse and narcotics, particularly the world of “trendy drugs” (those used at parties known as raves, in clubs, or as weapons of sexual assault). She has 25 years experience with the LAPD and is a nationally renowned expert on trendy drugs of abuse. Since her retirement from the LAPD, Porrata has toured the nation providing training, consultation, and expert testimony to thousands of individuals. She has testified in both civil and criminal courts, both state and federal levels and for both prosecution and defense. She has worked on court cases in three foreign countries as well. One defense attorney stated that he had been referred to her with the description “She’s brutally honest.” She gives an honest evaluation of your case, how she can or cannot contribute to it.

The current focus is on drug-facilitated sexual assault cases, all things related to GHB (sexual assault, addiction, death) and the drugs of abuse in the club and rave party scene. DFSA cases go under-recognized, under-investigated, under-prosecuted and under-convicted. She has unique expertise to offer in either training or testimony, explaining how these cases present, how to investigate them, crucial evidence to look for that helps define what really happened, how to deal with the frequent lack of toxicology evidence, how to break that he-said, she-said reaction whenever possible. More than 50 drugs have been utilized in drug-facilitated crimes (whether sexual assault, robbery, credit card fraud scams) and some would surprise you. Learn the variety of effects, reactions and testing issues they present. Up your game on confronting these unique cases with training.

Porrata is also the author/editor of numerous articles and books, including G’d Up 24/7: The GHB Addiction Guide (2007) and a prior edition of Law Tech’s Drug ID & Symptoms Guide (2007). She has published numerous articles, is co-author on peer-reviewed articles related to GHB and has been interviewed worldwide on these subjects. She is also the President of Project GHB, a nonprofit dedicated to research, prevention, treatment and response to abuse of the drug gamma hydroxy butyrate (GHB). She operates a GHB Addiction Helpline through the website, www.projectghb.org and has worked with more than 4,500 GHB addicts in 22 countries.
